What is the Alternating Front Raise?

The alternating front raises are an isolation exercise that primarily targets the muscles of the anterior part of the shoulders. This exercise is ideal for strengthening and toning the shoulders while enhancing coordination and balance. It can be included in any workout routine for beginners as well as advanced athletes.

How to properly perform the Alternating Front Raise

  1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and hold a dumbbell in each hand, palms facing your body.
  2. Keeping your arms straight, raise one dumbbell in front of you until it is parallel to the floor.
  3. Lower the dumbbell back down in a controlled manner.
  4. Repeat the movement with the opposite arm.
  5. Continue alternating arms for the recommended number of repetitions.
