What is the Bent Over Tricep Kickbacks?

The bent over tricep kickbacks are an isolation exercise for the tricep muscles, specifically targeting the lateral and long heads of the triceps.

This exercise can be performed by both beginners and advanced athletes, adding variety to your arm workouts.

It is particularly effective at the end of a session to achieve maximum muscle pump for the triceps after compound movements like bench presses.

How to properly perform the Bent Over Tricep Kickbacks

  1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and slightly bend your knees.
  2. Hinge forward at your hips, keeping your back straight and parallel to the ground.
  3. Hold a dumbbell in each hand and bring your upper arms close to your sides, with your elbows bent at a 90-degree angle.
  4. Extend your arms straight back, keeping your upper arms stationary.
  5. Pause for a moment at the top of the movement, then slowly lower the dumbbells back to the starting position.
  6. Repeat for the recommended number of repetitions.
