What is the Dumbbell Upright Rows?
The dumbbell upright row is a compound exercise that primarily targets the shoulder muscles and trapezius. This exercise is favored for its ability to build upper body strength and muscle mass. Both beginners and experienced lifters can benefit from its regular practice.
How to properly perform the Dumbbell Upright Rows
- Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and hold a dumbbell in each hand with an overhand grip.
- Keep your arms straight and lift the dumbbells vertically towards your chin, leading with your elbows.
- As you lift, keep the dumbbells close to your body and squeeze your shoulder blades together.
- Pause at the top of the movement, then slowly lower the dumbbells back down to the starting position.
