What is the Cable External Rotation?
The cable external rotation is a strengthening exercise that specifically targets the rotator cuff muscles. This exercise is excellent for enhancing shoulder stability and preventing injuries. It is commonly used in rehabilitation programs and by athletes aiming to strengthen their shoulders.
How to properly perform the Cable External Rotation
- Stand with your side facing a cable machine and adjust the height of the cable to about waist level.
- Hold the handle of the cable with the hand of the arm closest to the machine.
- Keep your elbow bent at a 90-degree angle and your upper arm parallel to the floor.
- Rotate your forearm away from the machine, keeping your upper arm stationary.
- Return to the starting position and repeat for the recommended number of repetitions.
- Switch sides and repeat the exercise with the other arm.
