What is the Smith Seated Wrist Curl?

The Smith seated wrist curl is an ideal isolation exercise to strengthen the forearm muscles. By using the Smith machine to stabilize the movement, this exercise is perfect for focusing the effort on wrist flexion without involving other muscle groups. Suitable for gym-goers of all levels, it helps achieve strong and functional forearm muscles.

How to properly perform the Smith Seated Wrist Curl

  1. Sit on a bench with your forearms resting on the padded surface, holding a barbell with an underhand grip.
  2. Allow your wrists to extend downwards, letting the barbell roll to the tips of your fingers.
  3. Flex your wrists to lift the barbell back to the starting position.
  4. Lower the barbell back down in a controlled manner.
