What is the Dumbbell Iron Cross?

The dumbbell iron cross is an isolation exercise that primarily targets the shoulder muscles and the upper back. Suitable for all fitness levels, this exercise helps improve shoulder stability and strengthens the stabilizing muscles.

How to properly perform the Dumbbell Iron Cross

  1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and hold a dumbbell in each hand.
  2. Extend your arms out to the sides, parallel to the floor, creating a 'T' shape with your body.
  3. Squeeze your shoulder blades together and engage your upper back muscles.
  4. Slowly bring the dumbbells together in front of your chest, crossing them in an 'X' shape.
  5. Pause for a moment, then return to the starting position by extending your arms back out to the sides.
  6. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
