What is the Single Arm Kettlebell Clean & Jerk?

The Single Arm Kettlebell Clean & Jerk is a powerful combination of explosive movement and strength, perfect for developing functional athletics. This exercise utilizes the swing motion to initiate momentum followed by a complete overhead extension, primarily targeting the shoulders, core, and legs. Suitable for athletes of all levels, it fits well in cross-training routines.

How to properly perform the Single Arm Kettlebell Clean & Jerk

  1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, holding a kettlebell in one hand between your legs.
  2. Bend your knees slightly and hinge at the hips to perform a swing, using the momentum to bring the kettlebell up to shoulder height.
  3. As the kettlebell reaches shoulder height, rotate your hand and push it upwards, extending your arm overhead in a pressing motion.
  4. Lock your elbow and stand tall, holding the kettlebell overhead.
  5. Lower the kettlebell back down to shoulder height by bending your elbow and guiding it back down to the starting position between your legs.
  6. Repeat for the recommended number of repetitions, then switch to the other hand.
