What is the Skater Jumps?

The skater jumps are a dynamic plyometric exercise that enhances agility, balance, and stabilizing muscle strength. Commonly used in functional and cardiovascular training programs, this exercise mimics the motion of a speed skater gliding over the ice.

How to properly perform the Skater Jumps

  1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, holding a barbell with an underhand grip, palms facing forward.
  2. Keep your back straight and engage your core.
  3. Curl the barbell upward by bending your elbows, keeping your upper arms stationary.
  4. Squeeze your biceps at the top of the movement.
  5. Lower the barbell back down in a controlled manner.
  6. Repeat for the recommended number of repetitions.
