What is the Sumo Deadlift with Bands?

The Sumo Deadlift with Bands is a powerful variation of the traditional deadlift. This exercise is designed to maximize hip and leg strength while adding increased tension through the use of resistance bands.

How to properly perform the Sumo Deadlift with Bands

  1. Set up a barbell with bands looped around it, anchored to the ground or a stable structure.
  2. Position your feet wider than shoulder-width apart and toes pointed outwards.
  3. Grasp the barbell with a wide grip, hands inside your legs.
  4. Keep your back straight, chest up, and engage your core.
  5. Drive through your heels and lift the barbell off the ground while maintaining a neutral spine.
  6. Extend your hips and knees to stand upright, fully extending your body.
  7. Lower the barbell back down to the starting position under control.
  8. Repeat for the recommended number of repetitions.
