What is the Incline Dumbbell Flyes With A Twist?

The incline dumbbell flyes with a twist are a compound exercise primarily targeting the chest muscles while also engaging the anterior part of the shoulders and triceps. This exercise is especially beneficial for enhancing shoulder mobility and emphasizing upper chest development.

How to properly perform the Incline Dumbbell Flyes With A Twist

  1. Set up an incline bench at a 30-45 degree angle.
  2. Hold a pair of dumbbells at your sides with a neutral grip (palms facing each other).
  3. Plant your feet firmly on the ground and lie back on the bench.
  4. Allow your arms to extend fully to the sides with a slight bend in your elbows.
  5. From this position, slowly lower the dumbbells in a wide arc until they are in line with your chest.
  6. As you lower the dumbbells, twist your wrists so that your palms face away from you at the bottom of the movement.
  7. Pause for a moment, then reverse the motion and raise the dumbbells back to the starting position while twisting your wrists to return to the neutral grip.
  8. Repeat for the recommended number of repetitions.
