What is the Lateral Bounds?

Lateral bounds are a plyometric exercise ideal for enhancing leg agility and power. This exercise engages the major lower body muscles and also strengthens core stability, making it an excellent addition to any training routine.

How to properly perform the Lateral Bounds

  1. Stand with your feet hip-width apart, knees slightly bent.
  2. Jump laterally to the right, landing on your right foot and swinging your left leg behind your body.
  3. Immediately jump laterally to the left, landing on your left foot and swinging your right leg behind your body.
  4. Continue alternating side to side, jumping laterally and maintaining a fluid motion.
  5. Keep your core engaged and land softly on the balls of your feet.
  6. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
