How to properly perform the Alternating Barbell Side Lunges

  1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and hold a barbell across your upper back, resting it on your trapezius muscles.
  2. Take a step to the side with your right leg, keeping your left foot planted and your toes pointing forward.
  3. Bend your right knee and push your hips back as you lower your body into a lunge position.
  4. Keep your chest up and core engaged throughout the movement.
  5. Push through your right heel to return to the starting position.
  6. Repeat the movement on the other side, stepping with your left leg.
  7. Continue alternating sides for the desired number of repetitions, maintaining proper form and control.
