What is the Weighted Crunches?

The weighted crunches are a popular core exercise that target the abdominal muscles, increasing the intensity of the classic crunch by adding external resistance. Ideal for practitioners of all levels, this exercise can be adjusted with various weights to stimulate muscle growth and definition.

How to properly perform the Weighted Crunches

  1. Lie flat on your back with your knees bent and your feet flat on the ground.
  2. Hold a weight plate or dumbbell against your chest, or place it behind your head.
  3. Engage your abdominal muscles and lift your upper body off the ground, curling towards your knees.
  4. Exhale as you crunch and squeeze your abs at the top of the movement.
  5. Slowly lower your upper body back down to the starting position.
  6. Repeat for the recommended number of repetitions, focusing on maintaining proper form and engaging your core throughout the exercise.
