What is the Wide Grip Pull Ups?

The wide grip pull-ups are a fundamental exercise for developing the upper back. Besides engaging the lats, this exercise strengthens the arm muscles and improves shoulder stability.

How to properly perform the Wide Grip Pull Ups

  1. Start by hanging from a pull-up bar with your palms facing away from you and your hands placed wider than shoulder-width apart.
  2. Engage your back muscles and squeeze your shoulder blades together as you pull your body upward.
  3. Continue pulling until your chin is above the bar or as high as you can comfortably go.
  4. Lower your body back down with control, fully extending your arms.
  5. Repeat for the recommended number of repetitions.
