What is the Standing Hammer Curls?

The standing hammer curls are a great exercise for targeting the biceps and forearms. By using a neutral grip, this exercise reduces strain on the wrist while providing maximum arm contraction. It is suitable for both beginners and advanced athletes.

How to properly perform the Standing Hammer Curls

  1. Stand upright with a dumbbell in each hand, palms facing your body.
  2. Keep your elbows close to your torso and your upper arms stationary.
  3. Contract your biceps as you curl the dumbbells up towards your shoulders.
  4. Keep your wrists in a neutral position throughout the movement.
  5. Pause for a moment at the top of the curl, then slowly lower the dumbbells back down.
  6. Repeat for the recommended number of repetitions.
