What is the Cable Wrist Curl?

The cable wrist curls are an excellent isolation exercise targeting the forearm muscles. Easy to perform with a cable machine, it is suitable for both beginners and advanced trainees, providing a significant muscle pump.

How to properly perform the Cable Wrist Curl

  1. Attach a wrist curl attachment to a low cable pulley.
  2. Stand facing the cable machine with your feet shoulder-width apart and your knees slightly bent.
  3. Grasp the handle or attachment with an underhand grip, palms facing upward.
  4. Rest your forearms on a bench or pad with your wrists hanging just beyond the edge.
  5. Curl your wrists upward by flexing your forearms, keeping your elbows stationary.
  6. Pause briefly at the top of the movement, feeling the contraction in your forearms.
  7. Slowly lower your wrists back down to the starting position, extending your forearms.
  8. Repeat for the recommended number of repetitions.
