What is the Incline Dumbbell Chest Press?

The incline dumbbell chest press is a fundamental exercise for targeting the upper part of the chest muscles while also engaging the shoulders and triceps. Suitable for both beginners and advanced athletes, this exercise helps build upper body muscle mass and strength, especially when performed with a full range of motion.

How to properly perform the Incline Dumbbell Chest Press

  1. Start by adjusting the incline bench to a comfortable angle (around 30-45 degrees).
  2. Hold a dumbbell in each hand and sit on the bench with your feet flat on the floor.
  3. Lean back onto the bench and position the dumbbells at shoulder level, with your palms facing forward.
  4. Press the dumbbells upward and slightly inward, bringing them close together at the top without touching.
  5. Lower the dumbbells back to the starting position in a controlled manner.
  6. Repeat for the recommended number of repetitions.
