What is the Foam Roll Upper Back?

Foam rolling the upper back is a great way to release muscle tension and improve mobility. This exercise is simple yet highly effective for targeting the back muscles and can be done before or after a workout to enhance recovery.

How to properly perform the Foam Roll Upper Back

  1. Sit on the floor with a foam roller placed just behind you. Lean back onto the foam roller with your upper back as the contact point. Cross your arms in front of your body and roll your shoulders forward. Keep your knees bent at a 90-degree angle with your feet flat on the floor. This will be your starting position.
  2. Lift your hips off the floor and apply pressure on one side of your back by leaning. Gently roll the muscles to relieve any tension you might have.
  3. Repeat for the recommended number of repetitions and switch sides.
