What is the Squat Jumps (Barbell)?

The squat jumps with barbell is a dynamic and explosive exercise that combines the benefits of the squat and the vertical jump. This exercise primarily targets the muscles of the thighs, glutes, and calves. It is ideal for improving lower body power and strength in advanced athletes.

How to properly perform the Squat Jumps (Barbell)

  1. Start by standing with your feet shoulder-width apart, toes slightly turned out, and the barbell placed across your upper back.
  2. Lower your body into a squat position by bending at the hips and knees, keeping your chest up and back straight.
  3. Explosively jump up as high as you can, extending your hips, knees, and ankles.
  4. As you jump, push the barbell overhead, extending your arms fully.
  5. Land softly and absorb the impact by bending your knees and hips, going back into the squat position.
  6. Repeat for the recommended number of repetitions.
