What is the Standing Dumbbell Lat Raises?
The standing dumbbell lat raises are a popular isolation exercise that targets the lateral deltoid muscles. This exercise is excellent for developing shoulder width and enhancing muscle definition. Suitable for both beginners and advanced lifters, it can be performed with light weights for stability or heavier weights for hypertrophy.
How to properly perform the Standing Dumbbell Lat Raises
- Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and hold a dumbbell in each hand by your sides.
- Keep your back straight and slightly bend your knees.
- With a slight bend in your elbows, raise the dumbbells out to the sides until your arms are parallel to the floor.
- Pause for a moment, then slowly lower the dumbbells back to the starting position.
- Repeat for the recommended number of repetitions.
