What is the Banded Lat Raises?
The banded lateral raises are an excellent isolation exercise specifically targeting the deltoid muscles. Perfect for beginners in bodybuilding, this exercise also helps advanced practitioners enhance shoulder definition and strength while reducing the risk of injury. Resistance bands provide a constant tension, making each repetition challenging and beneficial.
How to properly perform the Banded Lat Raises
- Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and place a resistance band under your feet.
- Hold the other end of the band in each hand with your palms facing down.
- Start with your arms by your sides and a slight bend in your elbows.
- Keeping your core engaged, raise your arms out to the sides until they are parallel to the ground, forming a 'T' shape.
- Squeeze your shoulder blades together at the top of the movement.
- Slowly lower your arms back down to the starting position.
- Repeat for the recommended number of repetitions.
