What is the Cable Iron Cross?

The cable iron cross is an excellent exercise for specifically targeting the upper chest area in isolation. It allows for independent work on each side, thus promoting perfect muscle balance. Suitable for both beginners and advanced practitioners, the cable iron cross is beneficial for enhancing the density and definition of the chest muscles.

How to properly perform the Cable Iron Cross

  1. Start by standing in the center of a cable machine with the pulleys set at shoulder height.
  2. Grab the handles with your arms extended out to the sides, palms facing forward.
  3. Engage your core and maintain a slight bend in your knees.
  4. Bring your arms forward, crossing them in front of your body.
  5. Return to the starting position by extending your arms out to the sides.
  6. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
