What is the Incline Dumbbell Flyes?
The incline dumbbell flyes are an isolation exercise that primarily targets the upper chest. It's an effective exercise for developing the upper part of the chest and is suitable for both beginners and advanced athletes. Besides the chest, this exercise also engages the shoulders and triceps.
How to properly perform the Incline Dumbbell Flyes
- Set an incline bench to an appropriate angle and select a pair of dumbbells.
- Place the dumbbells on your thighs and sit on the bench.
- Using your thighs, kick the dumbbells up one at a time, positioning them at shoulder width with your palms facing each other.
- Lie back on the bench with the dumbbells held directly above your shoulders.
- With a slight bend in your elbows, lower the dumbbells out to the sides in a wide arc until you feel a stretch in your chest.
- Exhale as you bring the dumbbells back up to the starting position, squeezing your chest muscles at the top of the movement.
- Repeat for the recommended number of repetitions.
