What is the Cable Lateral Raises?
The cable lateral raises are an efficient isolation exercise that effectively targets the lateral deltoids. It’s a great exercise to add definition and width to your shoulders while being less stressful on your joints compared to other dumbbell variations.
How to properly perform the Cable Lateral Raises
- Attach a handle to a low pulley cable machine.
- Stand with your side facing the machine and your feet shoulder-width apart.
- Grasp the handle with one hand and position it in front of your thigh.
- Keep your arm slightly bent and your core engaged.
- Exhale as you lift the handle laterally, away from your body.
- Continue the movement until your arm is parallel to the floor.
- Inhale as you slowly lower the handle back to the starting position.
- Repeat for the recommended number of repetitions, then switch sides.
