What is the Front Plate Raise?
The front plate raises are an isolation exercise primarily targeting the anterior part of the shoulder muscles. They are ideal for both beginners and advanced athletes, especially when used at the end of a workout to achieve a high level of muscle pump. This exercise also lightly engages the chest muscles.
How to properly perform the Front Plate Raise
- Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and hold a weight plate in front of your thighs with an overhand grip.
- Keep your arms extended and your core engaged.
- With a slight bend in your elbows, raise the weight plate directly in front of you until it reaches shoulder level.
- Pause briefly at the top, then lower the weight plate back down in a controlled manner.
- Repeat for the recommended number of repetitions.
