What is the Seated cross leg glute stretch?

The seated cross leg glute stretch is an excellent exercise to improve flexibility and reduce muscle tension in the glutes and lower back. Suitable for all fitness levels, this stretch helps in injury prevention and enhances overall mobility.

How to properly perform the Seated cross leg glute stretch

  1. Sit on the ground with one leg extended straight out in front of you.
  2. Bend the opposite leg and cross it over the extended leg, placing the foot flat on the ground.
  3. Keep your back straight and gently twist your upper body toward the bent leg, using your opposite arm to press against the outside of the bent knee for a deeper stretch.
  4. Hold the stretch for 20-30 seconds, then switch legs and repeat on the other side.
