What is the Cable Woodchops?
The cable woodchops are a compound exercise primarily targeting the oblique muscles and core stability. This movement, requiring a degree of coordination, is excellent for enhancing trunk stability and rotational power, which is beneficial in various sports.
How to properly perform the Cable Woodchops
- Start by standing beside a cable machine with the cable adjusted to shoulder height.
- Grab the handle with both hands, palms facing each other.
- Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and knees slightly bent.
- Rotate your torso and hips away from the cable machine, keeping your arms straight and extended in front of you.
- Return to the starting position by rotating your torso and hips back towards the cable machine.
- Repeat for the desired number of repetitions and then switch sides.
