What is the Snatch Balance?

The Snatch Balance is an advanced weightlifting exercise that helps improve upper body strength and stability while working on coordination. This exercise is excellent for athletes looking to enhance their snatch technique.

How to properly perform the Snatch Balance

  1. Start with the barbell on your back, resting on your traps or shoulders in a snatch grip.
  2. Position your feet hip-width apart with your toes slightly pointed outward.
  3. Bend your knees slightly and initiate the movement by pushing your hips back.
  4. Quickly and forcefully extend your hips, knees, and ankles, driving the barbell overhead.
  5. As the barbell reaches its peak height, drop quickly under the barbell into an overhead squat position.
  6. Stabilize the barbell overhead and stand up to complete the movement.
  7. Lower the barbell back to the starting position and repeat for the recommended number of repetitions.
