What is the Band Assisted Pull Ups?
The band assisted pull-up is a pull-up variation that helps in progressing toward mastering the pull-up. This exercise is ideal for strengthening the back and improving fitness, accessible even to beginners due to the assistance provided by the band.
How to properly perform the Band Assisted Pull Ups
- Attach a resistance band to a pull-up bar or sturdy anchor point, ensuring it is securely in place.
- Step inside the loop of the resistance band and position it around your feet or knees, depending on the level of assistance you need.
- Grasp the pull-up bar with an overhand grip, slightly wider than shoulder-width apart.
- Hang from the bar with your arms fully extended, engaging your core and keeping your body straight.
- Initiate the pull-up by squeezing your shoulder blades together and pulling your elbows down towards the floor.
- Continue pulling until your chin is above the bar, then slowly lower yourself back to the starting position.
