What is the Banded Straight Arm Pulldowns?
The banded straight arm pulldowns are an effective isolation exercise that target the back muscles, particularly the lats. Beginner-friendly with light resistance, it is also highly valued by advanced athletes at the end of a workout to achieve maximum muscle pump. This exercise also engages secondary muscles such as the shoulders and triceps.
How to properly perform the Banded Straight Arm Pulldowns
- Attach a resistance band to an anchor point overhead.
- Stand facing the anchor point and grab the band with both hands, palms facing down.
- Extend your arms straight out in front of you at shoulder height.
- Keeping your arms straight, pull the band down towards your sides, engaging your lats and upper back muscles.
- Pause briefly at the bottom, then return to the starting position with control.
- Repeat for the recommended number of repetitions.
