What is the Band Assisted Chin Ups?
The Band Assisted Chin Ups are an excellent way for beginners to build strength required for unassisted chin-ups. This exercise primarily targets the biceps and the latissimus dorsi, while also engaging the scapular muscles. Perfect for those looking to improve strength progressively and in a controlled manner.
How to properly perform the Band Assisted Chin Ups
- Attach a resistance band to a pull-up bar or secure it around the bar.
- Place one knee or foot into the loop of the resistance band, creating assistance.
- Grab the pull-up bar with an underhand grip, hands shoulder-width apart.
- Hang from the bar with your arms fully extended and your core engaged.
- Initiate the chin-up movement by pulling your chest towards the bar, bending your elbows and squeezing your shoulder blades together.
- Continue pulling until your chin is above the bar.
- Lower yourself back down with control, fully extending your arms.
- Repeat for the recommended number of repetitions.
