What is the Cable Front Raises?

The cable front raises are an isolation exercise that primarily targets the anterior shoulder muscles. Suitable for both beginners and advanced practitioners, this exercise promotes a muscle pump while also slightly engaging the chest muscles.

How to properly perform the Cable Front Raises

  1. Attach a handle or rope to a low cable pulley.
  2. Stand facing the cable machine with your feet shoulder-width apart.
  3. Hold the handle or rope with an overhand grip, palms facing downward.
  4. Keep your back straight and engage your core.
  5. Begin with your arms extended down in front of your thighs.
  6. Keeping a slight bend in your elbows, lift the handle or rope straight up in front of your body, leading with your elbows.
  7. Pause briefly at the top of the movement, then lower the handle or rope back to the starting position in a controlled manner.
  8. Repeat for the recommended number of repetitions.
