What is the Single Arm Kettlebell Push Press?

The single arm kettlebell push press is a compound exercise that primarily targets the shoulders and triceps, while also engaging the core stabilizing muscles. This dynamic exercise is excellent for developing strength, explosive power, and coordination. Ideal for intermediate to advanced athletes, it is particularly useful in functional conditioning programs.

How to properly perform the Single Arm Kettlebell Push Press

  1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, holding a kettlebell in one hand at shoulder height, palm facing inward.
  2. Keep your core engaged and maintain a slight bend in your knees.
  3. Lower your body into a quarter squat, then explosively extend your hips, knees, and ankles.
  4. As you drive upward, press the kettlebell overhead by extending your arm.
  5. Lock out your arm and pause briefly at the top of the movement.
  6. Lower the kettlebell back to shoulder height with control.
  7. Repeat for the recommended number of repetitions, then switch to the other arm.
