What is the Barbell Rear Delt Rows?
The wide-grip barbell rear delt row is a compound exercise that primarily targets the posterior deltoids and the upper back muscles. This exercise is ideal for developing strength and stability in the shoulder blades, as well as improving posture. Suitable for athletes of all levels, it is particularly beneficial for those looking to balance their overall muscular development.
How to properly perform the Barbell Rear Delt Rows
- Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and hold a barbell with an overhand grip, hands slightly wider than shoulder-width apart.
- Bend forward at the hips, keeping your back straight and chest up, and let the barbell hang in front of you at arm's length.
- Keeping your elbows slightly bent, pull the barbell up towards your upper abdomen, squeezing your shoulder blades together.
- Pause at the top of the movement, then slowly lower the barbell back down to the starting position, maintaining control.
