What is the Bodyweight Squat Jumps?

The bodyweight squat jumps are an excellent exercise to develop power and explosive strength in the leg muscles. In addition to being an effective plyometric movement to increase heart rate, it also engages the core stabilizing muscles.

How to properly perform the Bodyweight Squat Jumps

  1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart.
  2. Lower your body into a squat position by bending at the knees and hips, keeping your chest up and back straight.
  3. Explosively jump upward, extending your hips and knees fully.
  4. As you jump, swing your arms up for momentum.
  5. Land softly on the balls of your feet and immediately lower back into a squat position.
  6. Repeat for the recommended number of repetitions.
