How to properly perform the Close-Grip Standing Barbell Curl

  1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and hold a barbell with an underhand grip, hands shoulder-width apart.
  2. Keep your elbows close to your sides and curl the barbell up towards your shoulders, contracting your biceps.
  3. Pause at the top of the movement and then slowly lower the barbell back down to the starting position.
