What is the Kettlebell Sumo Squat?

The kettlebell sumo squat is a potent strength training exercise that primarily targets the thigh and glute muscles. It's accessible for beginners and equally beneficial for advanced practitioners, aiding in enhancing lower body strength and stability.

How to properly perform the Kettlebell Sumo Squat

  1. Stand with your feet wider than shoulder-width apart, toes pointed slightly outward.
  2. Hold a kettlebell with both hands in front of your body, gripping it with an overhand grip.
  3. Lower your body into a squat position, keeping your chest lifted and your back straight.
  4. As you squat down, allow the kettlebell to hang between your legs.
  5. Push through your heels to return to the starting position, engaging your glutes and thighs.
  6. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions, maintaining proper form and control throughout the exercise.
