What is the Single Leg Bodyweight Bridges?

The single leg bodyweight bridge is an excellent exercise for targeting the glute muscles, particularly the gluteus maximus and the hamstrings. Suitable for all fitness levels, this exercise helps improve hip stability and balance while strengthening the posterior chain.

How to properly perform the Single Leg Bodyweight Bridges

  1. Lie flat on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the ground.
  2. Extend one leg straight out in front of you.
  3. Engage your glutes and lift your hips off the ground, pressing through your heel of the bent leg.
  4. Keep your core engaged and maintain a straight line from your knee to your shoulder.
  5. Lower your hips back down to the starting position.
  6. Repeat for the recommended number of repetitions, then switch legs.
